Queens Beer Week 2017 is upon us and BTBT is brimming with anticipation for the annual showcase of the boroughs finest.
I can’t believe it’s been a year since the last Queens Beer Week. At the risk of sounding a bit melodramatic, time flies and it teaches you to embrace the concept of truly living every single day, to love and care for those close to you and to drink nothing less than finely made craft beer.
15 months ago BTBT was a concept in our minds. It grew into a collective of craft beer goons seeking to drink their way through the very best that the global craft beer community has to offer. What better place to start then our home; the great borough of Queens. Our love for all things Queens, most assuredly including Queens Beer, is well documented. It is embedded within the teams’ ethos and has significantly impacted the BTBT course trajectory.
It’s a delight to drink good beer wherever it is made, no questions there. Yet, I can quite honestly say that I derive a little bit of extra joy from being able to quench the craft beer desires of my palate with quality beer made within this fine borough. It also brings a wide smile to my face to say that our crew, Beer Today Beer Tomorrow is a premier media sponsor of Queens Beer Week 2017.
Queens Beer Week started back in 2014 just a couple of years after the Queens Craft Beer Renaissance started taking form. From its inception it has been described as a no profit, no revenue collaboration of brewers and bars, dedicated to preaching the craft beer gospel of the heavenly libation flowing through this great borough.
Each year the collective behind Queens Beer Week seeks to surpass the year prior with big opening and closing book end events and several bar hosted events and festivities in between. This week long celebration is important for many reasons. First and foremost it promotes local craft beer which in turn supports local commerce which then establishes and supports the growth of beer community and culture. It also is another opportunity to showcase the city’s most diverse borough, home to well over 2 million residents who speak an estimated 130+ languages. Lastly it offers a different perspective on the beer drinker’s experience because after all, there’s no place quite like Queens, New York.
Friends of Firefighters are dedicated to addressing the physical, mental health, and wellness needs of New York City’s firefighters and their families.
Hunters Point Parks is dedicated to enriching the quality of life in Hunters Point by preserving and enhancing its parks, green spaces and waterfront in partnership with the community.
Come out during Queens Beer Week 2017 and get a taste of Queens. Support Queens, Friends of Fire Fighters, Hunters Point Parks and Queens Beer culture. Who knows you may just find your new favorite watering hole.
